Ohayō gozaimasu
Morning light falls across a small storefront on Ikebukuro's Rikkyo-dori, and steam rises. One plate of Taiwanese vegetarian breakfast at a time, the day begins. Each morning an Instagram diary opens with "ohayō gozaimasu," illustrated with the family's hand-drawn sketches — and that diary is where the latest opening schedule appears.

Taiwanese su-shi
No meat. No fish. No pungent roots. This is Taiwanese vegetarian cooking — su-shi — and it holds its own at the table. These are everyday dishes, the kind that keep chopsticks moving. Some plates use egg or dairy; for vegan requests, just ask. You don't have to think about any of it. That's the way of this kitchen.
The family
Born in Tainan; twenty years vegetarian, thirty-four in Tokyo. The eldest son designed the interior, and the illustrations and packaging come from family hands.
The family's drawings
The red-line family drawings line the walls, wrap the packages, fill the Instagram feed. Seasonal scenes, happy announcements, snapshots of the day — the pictures tell the shop's story before a single word.
To take home
The wrapping paper carries the family's own design. Pineapple cakes sell at the counter; the Taiwanese tea is imported direct.
